LEADERSHIP - PRINCIPALS

      Mr. Wier co founded the firm in 1978. He has 34+ years of experience in consulting engineering. Under his early guidance the firm was recognized as one of the 500 fastest growing privately-owned businesses in America. Much of the firm's philosophy for "serving the client" and providing "complete/quality services" stems from his detailed approach to business and engineering problem-solving. The firm's reputation for consistently executing that philosophy has been forged by the teamwork of those many talented individuals in positions of leadership here.
      John attributes part of his interest in land use and land development of this region to having pioneer ancestors who settled in north central Texas in 1853. After being named the "Most Promising Future Engineer" of his high school class, Wier focused on city and land-use planning in his engineering studies at UTA, graduating in 1972 with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
      Wier was selected the "Young Engineer of the Year" by the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) in 1984 and "Engineer of the Year" in 1996. He was elected President of the Fort Worth Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for 2005-2006.

      Mr. Lane has very diverse experience in Municipal, and Land Development Engineering. He has been a Project Manager and Principal for over 25 years managing the majority of the firm's Municipal Projects while designing and managing numerous types of Private Development projects. He has become a competent land planner for mixed use, residential and commercial developments.
      Mr. Lane is a licensed Professional Engineer and Surveyor in the State of Texas. He is a 1972 graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington (BSCE) and is a former P&Z Commission chairman for the City of Mansfield.

      Mr. Silvestri has been with Wier & Associates since 1993. He has 12 years of experience in general civil design pertaining to water, sewer, street, grading and storm drainage improvements for private and public sector clients. He is an active member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers DFW Mid-Cities Chapter and was honored in 2004 as Young Engineer of the Year. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. Mr. Silvestri earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1996.

      Mr. Ramirez has been with Wier & Associates since August, 1996. He spent eight years prior to that with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Fort Worth Texas. Current clients include private developers, municipalities and economic development corporations in Texas. He works closely with each EDC to develop land planning strategies for individual site development to meet their unique goals. He manages multi-million dollar projects and studies in all aspects from planning to plan preparation and construction management. He received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico.
